Madrid Hosted Expert Events on Land Policy and Rural Development
On 20–21 February, Madrid hosted expert events dedicated to land policy and rural development, attended by representatives of national associations from several European countries.
On 20 February, an expert symposium was held in the building of the Spanish Senate, providing a platform for discussion on current challenges in agricultural policy and rural development in the European context. The presentations focused in particular on issues related to farming on agricultural land, the role of family farms in the context of generational renewal, and the impact of European Union legislation on national legal frameworks governing land ownership. The programme continued with a working meeting at the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, where current topics were discussed, including issues related to Mercosur.
The symposium was organised by CEDR (Comité Européen de Droit Rural) with the support of the University of Valladolid and Registradores de España.
On 21 February, the Management Board meeting followed, addressing financial, scientific, and administrative matters, the activities of the professional journal and newsletter, preparations for European congresses and colloquia on agricultural law, as well as the work of national associations. A preliminary possibility was also raised that a future CEDR conference could be held in Slovakia.
The events were attended by representatives of associations from across Europe. The Slovak Republic was represented, on behalf of the Association of Agricultural and Environmental Lawyers, by Prof. JUDr. Lucia Palšová, PhD., and Prof. JUDr. Anna Bandlerová, PhD.
